Mother of God
|
January 1st
Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God
|
|
The Church has long taught that Mary is truly the Mother of God. St. Paul
observed that “God sent His Son, born of a woman," expressing the union of the human and the
divine in Christ. And while Mary is not our Mother in the physical sense, she is called our
spiritual mother, for she conceives, gives birth, and nurtures the spiritual lives of grace for each
person.

In this one-of-a-kind rosary, a richly-detailed, vintage sterling medal honors the Mother of God with
a tender portrait. In a unique configuration, the sterling center-piece entwines the initials
for Ave Maria around the image of Our Lady of Grace. The Aves are 8mm Swarovski bicones in
a resplendent cobalt blue; the sterling-capped Paters wrap gold foils around vivid cobalt; the spacers
weave metallic sparkle throughout, with silver pearl seed beads and gold-lined firepolish.
